Here’s what our guests say.

We were looking for a vacation home for a family reunion and are very grateful that we discovered The Lodge on Lake Winnipesaukee! We had 16 people and were pleasantly surprised that there was plenty of room for our group, and we never felt crowded.

The kitchen was very well-equipped, and we could eat in the dining area or on the screened porch. The living areas were very comfortable with plenty of spots to lounge. And the screened porch was a great space to hang out at any time of the day. We ate many meals there and took in the spectacular sunsets.

The house was very clean, well equipped, and lovingly cared for by the family. The bedding was excellent with freshly cleaned comforters, mattress pads and pillows, and there were plenty of bathrooms. There were also lots of puzzles, games, nick-knacks, and books to browse.

There was plenty of lawn furniture and the large lawn provided space for our group to spread out and still have room for lawn games. The dock easily accommodated a 22’ pontoon boat, and besides the floating swim raft there was an extra mooring for a floating trampoline.

The loons greeted us every morning and a bald eagle hung out in the pine trees next to the house. Our kids enjoyed fishing off the dock and shore, and morning walks up to Abenaki Tower were a good way to start the day.

The location was great. It was a 15 minute drive to Wolfeboro if anything was needed, and a 15 minute evening boat ride (or 5 minute car ride) to 19 Mile Bay for an ice cream at Pier 19.

The Fernald family was very easy to work with and very responsive and accommodating. The Lodge is a wonderful, classic lake house and we thank the Fernald’s for sharing it with our family, and we look forward to returning for another great vacation on the lake.

We had a wonderful week. It was so nice to have our own rooms (even one extra room) and plenty of bathrooms. The kitchen is better stocked than my kitchen. The beds were very comfortable, and there was enough space to be alone if you wanted to. We played Michigan Romey, put together three of your difficult puzzles, and of course enjoyed the water. We were lucky that our pregnant granddaughter was able to enjoy the week without incident. It was a great week with only one day of wind and rain (we worked on the puzzle). We enjoyed the lodge immensely. We live in a 200 year old home, so we love the feel of an old home with its memories, rattles, ghosts, and critters.  If we get the chance, we would love to stay next year!

This was our third summer at The Lodge. We have scheduled a two week extended family vacation on Lake Winnipesaukee since 2001. As the family grew, our needs grew. Thank goodness we found this wonderful property.

A classic lakefront lodge, lovingly maintained, and improved, by the family in whose trust it remains. 8 bedrooms, 5 baths, large wraparound porch, enough sitting area and seating for large family meals (although the lodge has a limit of 18 guests, we often had more than 20, including guests, for our classic lake dinners), and a kitchen that has exactly what you need for industrial scale cooking. There is a large washer and dryer for the incoming laundry.

Although no beach, it is lakefront, with ample seating, a coveted hammock, a boat dock, swimming float, and mooring for a sailboat. Beds are all wonderfully comfortable. There is none of that typical mildew smell you find in so many waterfront properties.

A family member is either in the cottage above the Lodge or living nearby, so there is immediate attention to questions and concerns. They also have a long time local man who knows every detail of the property and fixes anything and everything if the need arises.

If you're looking for a contemporary lakefront mega-mansion, this is not for you. If you're looking for a classic lakefront lodge, your only problem will be getting a date, since current renters are not giving up their time slots for anything!

“I stayed at “The Lodge” with a family group of thirteen for a week in July. It was a great experience and we all hope to return someday. We found the house to be well kept - very clean and in good condition. The rooms were all comfortable and nicely furnished. One of the best features was the large wrap-around screened-in porch where our entire family ate dinner every night and watched some of the most amazing sunsets any of us had ever seen. The lakefront was awesome with a very nice boat dock, a swim-float that our kids loved (ages 11-21), plus comfortable chairs, shady trees, a hammock, a tree swing and more. I highly recommend this place. It has one of the best views you can find on the lake and it’s a great value… and as an added plus, the owners are very nice people.”

It just dawned on me that we had not submitted a review when my sister in law and I were talking about trying to do another vacation and reflected back on this one Our family, my husband's sister and family as well as their parents all came together here. We had a total of 11 people in our group (5 teenagers/6 adults). We spent a week at the house and had a wonderful time. The weather was a bit cool for the time of year but we still managed to have fun on the lake and around town. We towed our boat and were able to keep it at the dock. We took a couple of trips to Wolfeboro by boat and traveled to Meredith one day. The kids had a great time tubing in spite of the chilly weather. The house was great for all of us. Plenty of room in the kitchen and dining area, a great living room to hang out but the best was the screened in porch. We ate many of our meals out there and just hung out. We were fortunate to have a couple of incredible sunsets from the porch. The kids found the closet full of games and there was even an old bingo set with the wire cage for the balls. We played lots of games, read, hung out and just relaxed. The house was clean and well stocked. We really had a great time and were sad to leave. Would highly recommend this home to other families. Great vacation.

My 3 siblings and our families (14 of us total) vacationed together and quickly made ourselves at home in this beautiful, rambling lodge. We made the trip from our respective homes in GA, NC, and MI and enjoyed a week's respite from a summer heat wave. The kitchen is newly renovated and is well equipped with brand new large and small appliances (including a microwave and food processor) plus pots, pans and ample plates, glasses and cutlery. The lodge is aesthetic appealing and comfortable. We sunned by the lake during the day and enjoyed the screened-in porch overlooking the lake during the evenings. There were plenty of options for day trips for antique shopping and sight-seeing. We were sad when our week's rental was up and vowed to do it again next year. We now feel homesick when we look at the pictures!

“My extended family spent the last week of July at this wonderful lodge on the lake. We covered every age from 9 to 90 and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. Early risers enjoyed calm quiet waters for fishing, kayaking and other paddle sports. As the day went on, swimmers sunbathed on the floating dock and boaters had plenty of activities to keep themselves busy. Some of us chose to cozy up on the large wrap around porch with a good book. In the evenings, the sunset was spectacular, the loons peaceful, and the board games got quite competitive! This lodge is kept in amazing condition. Everything works perfectly and is well maintained. The kitchen is brand new and stocked with anything you might possible need. With eight bedrooms everyone had plenty of space and a comfortable bed to sleep in. The kitchen and porch were big enough to accommodate our large family dinners, and there are lots of little sitting areas throughout the house. We created memories that will stay with us for a lifetime and are already talking about returning next year!”

“Some of our fondest summer memories have been created in this beautiful summer home. My children love to fall asleep to the sound of the loons, and there was nothing better than sitting on the porch at the end of the day as the sun sets over the lake. We’ve enjoyed staying here with a large group, where there is plenty of room for everyone. We loved going to Wawbeek (The Lodge) — my daughter just asked me the other day when we were visiting again!”

“Our family gathered at the Lake House for a week in July. Five children, their spouses and eight grandchildren came from five different states. As we continue to reflect on our time, we recall how peaceful and comfortable our time together was. The house is located on the east shore of the lake and every evening we enjoyed a spectacular sunset, each one different as the sun set over the lake and behind the mountains.

The kitchen had recently been renovated and the eating and sleeping arrangements were excellent. Our family enjoyed swimming in the clear waters and to a float. We also enjoyed canoeing along the shore.

It was one of the most relaxing vacations we had and months later we are still talking about it as we enjoy over 1000 photos.

The facility was ‘as advertised,’ clean, well maintained and the owner was helpful in answering our questions. We would recommend it to others and look forward to returning sometime in the future.”

“The Lodge at Wawbeek is an absolutely beautiful place, inside and out. My large family group and I were more than comfortable in the lovely house with its spacious rooms and homey furnishings. The newly renovated kitchen is so pretty and it is stocked with all the "tools" you need. The spacious lakefront offers breathtaking views, crystal clear water and a tree swing that was loved by all. The owners are so nice and extremely accommodating. We all can't wait to go back!”
